A strong woman of God, helpmeet to Dr. Shawn J. Singleton, and an accomplished career professional in her own right, Andrea M. Singleton is Martin Street’s First Lady.

 

First Lady Singleton is the youngest of four children born to

Rev. Calvin and Jacqueline Brown.  She was originally born at

Camp Pendleton, California, and at the age of nine she moved with her family to Virginia Beach, Virginia.  She was

baptized at Grace Baptist Church in Jacksonville, NC, but she

spent most of her formative years at Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church in Norfolk, Virginia under the leadership of 
Dr. Raymond Dean.

 

She is a graduate of Green Run High School in Virginia Beach, and she holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Masters of Arts in Education from Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia.  over the past 20 years she has worked as a teacher in private and public schools in Georgia, Virginia and North Carolina.

 

First Lady Singleton was joined in holy matrimony with Pastor Singleton on October 5, 1997, and from this union God has blessed them with three wonderful children: Shawn II, Jacqueline, and Alaina. Pastor Singleton refers to her as “His Personal Angel,” because she was sent from God to help him be all that God has called him to be, and over the past 15 years she has walked with him hand-in-hand in ministry.  Her favorite scripture is Proverbs 31:10-31.
